Seeking a refutation of a popular Holocaust denial meme

by memebeanbeam

This is one of the most popular memes I see used by Holocaust deniers. If you search for "6 million jews" on google images you can immediately find this image and others like it.

In case this image gets deleted from the site I uploaded it to, it is titled "Holocaust & 6,000,000 Jews stories in Jew owned New York Times, all long before WW2 had finished" and depicts samples from newspapers dated from June 11, 1990 to February 17th, 1945 that include the 6,000,000 figure. Could someone please refute this image? I am not a holocaust denier and am asking this question in good faith, I am just curious because I have never seen it debunked. Thank you for your time.

Hey!

Not to preclude further discussion, but this question does turn up fairly often and is answered in depth here by /u/commiespaceinvader. I ought to double check whether it's in the FAQ.

The quick and dirty version is that this number appears repeatedly in the years leading up to WWII because there were roughly six million Jews in Eastern Europe - hence there being six million lives under threat, etc, in various pre-war articles.
