Note that this sub has a twenty-year rule that prohibits discussion of current events and politics, and that will make it a challenge to discuss this question without breaking the rules. There are some extremely hardworking historians who contribute here, but they still have limited time and may not be able to give the question the attention it deserves under those restrictions.
