I always hear about the misdrops on D-Day and how common they were. Before D-Day did the paratroopers have any specific training for dealing with the consequences of misdrops? If they didn't, did they have any for when they dropped into Holland?

US doctrine didn't rely on pinpoint accuracy of drops, because the procedure was to land, proceed to a predetermined rallying point (using orientation and land navigation skills) and then continue from there. Otherwise, doctrine emphasized the value of initiative and targets of opportunity.

This is from Field Manual 31-30, which describes airborne and parachute operations as of May 1942, well before D-Day. It's worth a read, and is available online.
