I've been considering minoring in Jewish studies and have taken my first course on Jewish history from the 10th to 20th century! The professor requires us to choose one of the following books and to submit a review later on.
All of these interest me, but I'm very skeptical as to which one to choose, particularly because my major is hard enough as is, but also because I've been disappointed before. I once took a Religious Studies course, and I didn't quite appreciate the approach taken by the scholars I studied.
I'm looking for a book that I'll look forward to reading on my morning commute, namely one that won't make me scratch my head too much or give me any headaches. But most importantly, I'm looking for books from the following list that you've enjoyed reading.
Note: I can read in French too! Numbers 5, 14, 21, 37, 44, 50, 68, 73, 89, 94, 105, and 129 have already been taken. List: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxJ2hbi6xo-hTEozS2hvUFZhSnM/view?usp=sharing
I originally posted this on a r/AcademicBiblical, but was redirected here. Thanks!
Hello.
Feel free to check out our recommended books and resources section, found here, where we suggest several sources on exactly that topic.
Obviously, other users are welcome to make other suggestions as well.
