During the US Civil War did the Union Territories muster any regiments to fight? If not, how would a young man from Colorado or Washington go about enlisting? Did the draft in 1863 include the territories?

As one more thought, would these soldiers have actually seen combat against the Confederates, or would they have remained in the territories to fight the various Native American tribes?
