Why were colonies like Canada, Australia, and South Africa more attractive to European settlements and others like India, Malaysia, West Africa, and South Pacific were not?

I know some famous colonists were born in India like Rudyard Kipling but why was there not the same migration there that we saw in the Americas etc?

Essentially climate and disease. The closer to the equator, the more likely people of European ancestry were to die from local diseases: yellow fever, malaria, etc. So places like Argentina, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and North America end up with much larger European populations.
