Did European colonists have the same problems with local diseases that the Native Americans had with those brought over from Europe?

I've read a lot about how many diseases brought over by European colonists and their livestock contributed heavily to the decline in native populations but did Europeans face the same problems with local diseases or was this one-sided for whatever reason?
