Is there any truth to the use of cyanide capsules carried in the mouth? How did people eat with them in their mouth? Were there ever accidental discharges?
They were stored in containers like this though some could be shaped into false teeth and held in the mouth. They were covered with rubber so if accidentally swallowed it would pass through the body harmlessly. If someone wished to use it they would simply have to bite down on it and release the fast acting poison, causing brain death within minutes.
