Was the American civil war important on a global scale?

by HydranixReddit

This question always bothered me because the american civil war is famous on a global scale ,however was it actually really that important to shape European , asian , african etc. history or was it just significant for the US.

Not to discourage other answers, but there's been quite a few posts on this topic in the past:

How much did Europe pay attention to the American Civil War?
[How was the American Civil War perceived around the world?] (https://www.reddit.com/r/AskHistorians/comments/23ggo8/how_was_the_american_civil_war_perceived_around/)
What was the impact of the American Civil War on battlefield tactics in Europe?
What was Europe's reaction to the U.S. Civil War? Why was there no outside attack from any European nation during this time of American vulnerability?

I hope these threads help!
