Is there any data on the age that Native American girls in the 15-17 hundreds typically had their first period? Are there any accounts of Native American life that mention this? Could someone point me in the right direction to find this out?
I have recently been doing some genealogy work in Northern California. Native women there were very frequently giving birth to their first child at age 14. That should give you some idea of the onset of menses. Im getting my information from the 1860, 1870 1880 and 1890 federal censii.
