I am in love with this historical person. However I cannot find anything about his family except his brothers and ofc his famous father.
Thanks for your answers!
Nothing. Livy claims that Hannibal married a woman from Castulo, an Iberian town that later defected to the Romans. Silius Italicus in the Punica includes a character called Imilce who is supposed to be Hannibal's wife. In book 4 Hannibal sends her back to Carthage from his camp, despite her wish to remain--with her goes their son. Later in the book Hanno tries to sacrifice their son and Imilce prevents him. They disappear from the text after that. But there's not really any reason to think that Imilce is a historical person, and I'm...skeptical that Silius Italicus is even talking about the same person Livy is. Imilce seems to be a decidedly Carthaginian name as far as I can tell, being nothing more than a Greek feminine fabricated from Punic "Himilco." It's possible a woman from Castulo might take a Punic name, as Livy says the city was very close to the Carthaginians, but Silius Italicus is also well known for apparently inventing names for people when he feels like it, in good epic tradition--the Punica is riddled with the names of Gallic and Iberian champions who are otherwise unattested and appear to only function as literary devices. And Imilce seems to be adapted from previous epic passages. The passage where Hannibal sends her back to Carthage is basically Hector's farewell to Andromache on the battlements in the Iliad (complete with infant child symbolizing the doomed city), as well as taking bits probably from Lucan's passage in the Pharsalia where Pompey orders his wife away from the battle to keep her safe
