I found this image: http://66.media.tumblr.com/8b089decd03c284afa566e7a22314f18/tumblr_nel7k3Thz41t26my0o1_500.gif which is attributed to Hubal the moon god - unfortunately all of the sources I found this image at seem very biased (anti-islamic) so I am hesitant in believing it.
On the Wikipedia page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hubal it mentions with the first sentence "Hubal (Arabic: هبل) was a moon god worshipped in pre-Islamic Arabia, notably at the Kaaba in Mecca.".
However, at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allah_as_Moon-god#Scholarly_views it says, quote "The claim that Hubal is a moon god derives from the speculation of the German scholar Hugo Winckler in the early twentieth century. Recent authors do not identify Hubal as a god of the moon. David Leeming describes him as a warrior and rain god, as does Mircea Eliade. Islamic sources make no mention of the moon in connection with Hubal."
What is it then? I hope some expert in Arabic, pre-Islam society can give an unbiased answer.
Ok so apparently the image above was excavated at Hazor in Palestine and represents Yarikh (also written as Jerah, Jarah, or Jorah, Hebrew spelling ירח) a moon god in Canaanite religion. So false flag there. But still the question remains about Hubal and whether there is evidence of it having been a moon god. It is so difficult to find unbiased sources in that area.
