What was the intended length of the 1919 Treaty of Versailles?

by Sierra750

I'm thinking of the military restrictions placed on the German military, for example the limitation to 100,000 men, restrictions on equipment such as submarines and airplanes and the de-militarization of the Rhineland.

  1. How long were these restrictions intended to last? Was there a year when these restrictions would be lifted, or was it meant to be "forever"?

  2. What reactions were there in Europe and the US when Germany violated the treaty and began rebuilding its military and re-militarizing the Rhineland?

Thanks!

I went and looked into your first question and in the official Treaty of Versailles there is no mention when Germany could rebuild their army or remiliterize the Rheinland. If you wanna read the treaty yourself here“s a link(part 5 of the treaty is the part about the German military): https://www.loc.gov/law/help/us-treaties/bevans/m-ust000002-0043.pdf
