Have societies with democratic forms of government ever been able to stop or reverse an anti-democratic takeover during the 19th or 20th centuries in the space of a single electoral cycle?

I started thinking about the mistakes the Spanish Republicans made during their civil war, and then I couldn't think of any examples of monarchist/fascist takeovers being reversed.

This wasn't an attempted monarchist/fascist takeover, but it was anti-democratic.
