Nazi hold outs in Greenland as late as 1946?

by Brian-Ghilliotti

While doing research on obscure history I cam across this link about Nazi remnant units that were still being pacified in Greenland as late as 1946.

So far, further research has not revealed another story about the outcome of this operation against the Greenland Nazis. Is there any truth to this story? Was this story just based rumors? I guess antiquated Danish military sources would be the best source to answer this question, if it is not classified. However, I don't speak or read Danish... if true, what happened to these Nazis (probably just gave up)?

Nothing to that story, as far as I'm aware, is true. There was a German presence in Greenland, but nothing that extensive, rather it was a small collection of weather stations, the last of which was knocked out in late 1944. I wrote about this previously here which may interest you.
