Where did the food supply for Europe come from in 1945?

by llcucf80

Especially in Central and Eastern Europe that were almost completely devastated, how much farmland was left available for use, and was it enough to produce a sufficient amount of food for the populace?

If not, where did their food supplies come from?

Thanks for any info.

Actually, I can't find much about the first harvest in 1945. It seems that it wasn't as noteworthy as the drought in 46, followed by harsh winter in Northern Europe in 46/47, followed by catastrophic drought in Central Europe in 1947.

The Americans and Soviets provided food for the Europe before that, but it was this series of bad (or extremely bad in case of the year 1947) weather that lead to the systematic relief tied to superpower struggle.
