I've read some wikipedia articles https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vietnam_War and i can't seem to find some information whether the west did get affected, but it seems that the east was more affected by the vietnam war than the west. But, still i'm not entirely sure, did the vietnam war have any substantial influence on the west? I'm looking if someone could point me in the right direction seeing as i got lost hehe regarding this topic. Sorry, my english isn't that good, hope it won't be of any inconvenience, thank you very much.
I'm afraid I can't provide any sources, but I read somewhere that the Vietnam War pushed America towards a more isolationist stance as there was little public support for international intervention following the human cost of the war. However, the Bosnian and Rwandan genocides during the early 90s, which many saw as preventable if American intervention had taken place, caused a political shift in the opposite direction. So this effect was temporary and, as you say, the impacts were felt more severely in the East where the conflict actually took place.
There are doubtless more impacts beyond the one I mentioned but I'm no expert on the issue. I hope this helps nevertheless:)
