I can't recall if this us is included in /r/all or not (I think it is but can't be certain) and wonder if the mods were approached about being filtered into the new sub.
It's probably worth noting that almost every non-NSFW subreddit is part of the "popular" set at this point. It's basically a slightly filtered /r/all.

Yes. Although we have always declined to be included as a default subreddit, as /u/bigslothonmyface pointed out, the popular listing includes many hundreds of subreddits, so we are, for right now, viewing it as simply being part of a SFW version of /r/All, and we have remained a part of /r/All in the past. We will keep a close eye on any changes that might be attributable to inclusion, and changes in traffic (the Admins have provided us with some baseline numbers for Mobile App traffic to allow us to do comparisons), and if we do see any negative effects on the community, we will opt out in the future.
