I am an undergraduate History student writing my thesis on the superwomen stereotype that emerged in the 1970s and 1980s and was wondering if anyone had any source/ historiography recommendations on woking women during 1960-1980, women in management and leadership roles, and/ or the ’superwoman’ stereotype. Thanks!
Ruth Rosen addresses the (transracial version of) the superwoman stereotype--roots and effects--in her history of postwar feminism, The World Split Open: How the Modern Women's Movement Changed America. The book is from 2000, so the bibliography won't be up to date, but it should give you an idea of the language people are using so you can search more efficiently for further sources.
Cool topic!
