I was just looking at some pictures from the Civil War, saw Lincoln visiting with some military officers. Got me wondering when the last time a sitting president actually paid a visit to the battlefield on which they are waging war. (using the term war loosely here, low is count Vietnam and Iraq, etc- significant military engagements) Thanks!
