What did the WW2 Chinese Uniform look like?

by SoundAndFury87

I am working on a hobby project, and all my research has shown a pretty varied number of uniforms worn by the Nationalist Chinese in there war against Japan. Some of them are grey, some khaki, and others a light grey/blue.

Which uniform would a regular infantryman be wearing during, say, the Marco Polo Bridge Incident? What was the most common uniform worn throughout the war?

Would they be carrying a large number of flags, similar to IJA soldiers?

Additionally, would most troops be wearing a regular uniform, or would many be irregulars dressed however?

Chinese Nationalist troops of the period were issued a variety of uniforms and equipment according to what was available and the preference of their commanders or their foreign advisors (if any). For example, German-trained divisions were generally issued the characteristic Stahlhelm coal-scuttle helmets, German-inspired uniforms and German small arms (or local copies thereof), while the Chinese Expeditionary Force in Burma was equipped in American style uniform, issued American-made arms and so on. Photos I've seen of the 29th Route Army (the unit involved in the Marco Polo Bridge incident) show them in a sky-blue uniform resembling French late WW1 era uniforms, with the Adrian helmet replaced with a cloth forage cap of the same material.
