So i've recently heard the audiobooks of Ceasar Commentaries on the Gallic Wars, and Ceasar's X Legion

by Lord_Caedus

Left with a ton of questions, i would humbly request the historians answer or advise on some:

During the Gallic campaign Caesar asks for hostages every time he succeeds in "humbling" a tribe, however most would revolt shortly after anyways, so why insist on it? Or in what way was this effective?

Romans did awesome siege works, and they are explained in the books, however, besides the fact that i'm Portuguese and therefore i don't really understand most of the concepts, is there anywhere we can see a representation of the sieges done in Gaul?

As an enthusiast i would love to read more about Caesar, and or any of the Roman military campaigns, what other audiobooks would you recommend?

Thank you

Ps: I've also heard the Roman history on the great courses online and the audiobook Hannibal, also very good.

Where did you find these audio books? I looked through Amazon and only could find paperbacks
