Whereabouts? In New Zealand it was sixpence in Oamaru for a shave and a brush and threepence by Professor Rowley (probably not a real professor) in Christchurch. UK newspapers aren't free online, but checking some that my library has access to, they don't seem to have ads for shaves, but the Irish Times has an ad for a safety razor for 3s. (reccomended for invalids yachtsmen and cyclists).
