Is there a way to research online a (now deceased) relative's service history in WW2?

by Shackleton214

I have a full name and date of birth. He was drafted and served in the US Army in Europe sometime from after D-Day but before the Battle of the Bulge (in which he supposedly participated) until the end of the war. He went into the Reserves and was later called up and served in Korea as, I believe, a Master Sergeant. I think he operated a BAR in WW2. That's about all I know of his WW2 service, and do not know what unit he served with.

Try www.fold3.com ...it's like Ancestry, but for military history.

It is a paid service, but if you wait until Veteran's Day and Memorial Day, they usually have free weekends. Make sure you have all your info ready to go and power research for those 48-72 hours.
