Did the Soviet curriculum on Marxism describe tendencies critical of the Soviet government? Ideology was such a substantial part of why China broke away from the Soviet bloc, that I'm interested in how this theoretical break was officially described. If a Russian college student wanted to learn about Mao Zedong thought, would he or she be able to?

Was Gramsci ever taught to Soviets? I can see how Gramsci might be considered particularly unpalatable to the Soviet system, so I would be shocked if the answer was "Yes."
