Were there any phoenician colonies in the southern part of Africa?

Not that we know of, and no ancient source mentions any. The furthest known Phoenician enclave was at Mogador, on the Atlantic coast of NW Africa. I'd bet cash money that Phoenician vessels went further south along the African coast once Mogador had been established a safe harbor and source of resupply, but there is no extant evidence. As you sail south from Morocco along the coast, the navigation gets more and more treacherous, both now and in ancient times. Later Carthaginian sources tell us about Punic expeditions that went to southern Africa, and even circumnavigated the continent, but we hear nothing about settlements.
