Did Japan's actions during WWI with regards to German holdings in the Pacific put any strain on their relationship in WWII?

In the period leading up to WW2, Germany was more keen to ally with China due to Japan's WWI actions.

In 1937, when a Chinese ambassador visited Germany, Göring told the Chinese ambassador that he thought of Japan as a Far East Italy that backstabbed Germany in WWI, and that he'd pick China over Japan. Of course, in the end, Germany allied with both Italy and Japan instead.
