Why did Prince Albert take the name George VI upon his coronation?

Monarchs often take a regnal name or name they assume during their reign. Another example of this is with the Papacy. For example Pope Francis' real name is Jorge Mario Bergoglio. Albert took George as his regnal name to demonstrate continuity, (his father was George V) since his brother Edward had just abdicated.
