There are a lot of text sources out there but wondered if anyone had any favorites for breadth, rigor and engagement. Thanks!
Jas. Townsend & Son is my favorite. It's partially produced to support their store (so they'll mention if they're using one of their products in the episode, like a reproduction pie pan or the spice kit or something) but they aren't salesy about it at all. They always mention what historic source they pulled the recipe from, and they have some great special guests from historical sites and such.
It's not so much focused on the cooking as the eating but I do love the show The Supersizers, which are all on YouTube: https://www.google.com/search?q=the+supersizers+eats&oq=the+supersizers+eats&aqs=chrome..69i57j69i64.3527j0j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#tbm=vid&q=the+supersizers&*
The AnneBoleyn Files has quite a few videos dedicated to Tudor era cooking but the channel is not solely dedicated to it. Also, Historic Royal Palaces has a playlist with more Renaissance era recipes. I am mainly a Renaissance geek so my references are only of that time period.
