Licinius II Coin

by The_Great_Khan90

So I've recently come into possession of a Roman coin around the time of Licinius II. It has his face on the front and Jupiter on the back. I was wondering what the circumstances of the Empire was back then? Also where do you guys think the coin was minted?

Apologies if these are newbie questions, I'm quite new to the hobby and thought you guys might know something.

edit: the father was Licinius I

Licinius II was "Caesar" (ie 2nd in command) under his father, the Emperor Licinius I, in the Eastern Empire, ca. 317 to 324 CE. His mother was Julia Constantia, the sister of the famous Constantine I.

Licinius I and Constantine I were the last two augusti of the famous tetrarchy arrangement, whereby there were four rulers at once: two augusti and two junior caesares. After the battle of Chrysopolis (324), Constantine defeated Licinius I and became sole ruler of the Empire. In the aftermath, both Licinius I and the son Licinius II were put to death by Constantine.

Your coin: if you post a picture of both sides, I can tell you exactly where it was minted. Or you can hunt for it yourself by checking here (I've refined the search to coins of that time featuring Jupiter).
