While browsing this wikipedia article I wondered, exactly how much did US presidents cared about their coat of arms? Did they took much pride in them or were they just a background thought? Did some took more notice to their coats of arms than others?

Also: how it is that any of these people have coats of arms at all? How "official" are these? Who is the body that would assign/manage heraldry in the USA? How are they established, how are they passed down (if they are), what is the meaning/significance of them (if any)? Thanks!
