I have an assignment for my history class and it has stressed me out so much. I need to pic a topic of history that historians disagree on a lot. I'm just getting overly stressed out picking a topic because finding 2 primary sources seems easy buts it's not. I was originally doing it on the ancient Sea People but finding primary sources is difficult. Any help is greatly appreciated.
You might want to take a look at the rules, as they state the users here can not provide homework topics.
However, I do have a suggestion for you, as you seem a bit overwhelmed by the assignment. You're currently attempting to stack boxes all at once without laying the base. You should first identify the type of history you are interested in and then choose some aspect within that history to explore. Once you have narrowed that down, then you can begin to examine how different historians have tackled a problem. I'm not sure of the scope of this assignment, but you would do well to read a historiography on your chosen subject.
Hopefully you will be able to decide on a subject. Good luck!
What sort of topic, what era of history, what part of the world?
Hello there. Your question seems to be related to school work, so we just want to remind you, and any potential respondents, that our rules DO permit people to ask for help with their homework, so long as they are seeking clarification or resources, rather than the answer itself. This policy is further explained in this META Thread.
Additionally, while our users may be able to help you out here, we hope that you also will take the time to check out our six-part series, "Finding and Understanding Sources", which should hopefully prove to be helpful for you as you continue in your research.
