Considering the horrific conditions brought about by crop failures, etc; I know that areas of the med were affected by such issues, though not to the same extent as northern Europe.
Did the Islamic world escape largely undamaged directly?
How did it affect their relationships with Christendom, with regards to war, trade, etc?
Really any information would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
Are you talking abut the famine of 1315? Or are you referring to the political and economic situation after the black death which goes by the name the late medieval crisis? Because in Europe, the black death and the following outbreaks actually had the effect of helping the western European peasants. The catastrophy had left many farms deserted, and the peasants could actually vote with their feet over on which terms they would labour. During the first decades after the plague, western Europe saw the nobility resort to ever more violent methods to retain their wealth at the expense of the peasants, despite the devastation. But it failed and the peasants were able assert themselves and gained increased rights and both the land rents and taxes were lowered.
