I am a lieutenant in the British Navy. It is the mid-1710s and the War of Spanish Succession is coming to an end. Can I buy a plantation in the American colonies and still keep my title of lieutenant and occasionally go back to sea? Or do I have to stay at sea or I lose that officer position?
