Unfortunately most of the mainstream history I come across seems to focus on this era in a purely serb-centric or austro-hungarian-centric perspective, and I find the neglect of the muslim position rather more glaring when taking into account that bosnia itself is actually a muslim country.
I will just address statement:
that bosnia itself is actually a muslim country
According to Bosnian census of 1910, Ortodox Christians (Serbs) were 43.49%, Muslims 32.25% and Catholics 22.87%.
According to census of 1991, Muslims were 43,5%, Serbs 31,2% and Croats 17,4%.
As you can see, during the first and second world war, both Serbs and Croats suffered in relative numbers.
During the WWII, Serbs in Croatia and Bosnia were exposed to mass murders, concentration camps and forced conversion, with number of Serbs killed usually estimated between 350,000 and 500,000. So what is now a Muslim country, was not always, and history from the period you are inquiring corresponds to demography (in case of Serbs) and Austro-Hungary (as Austro-Hungary annexed Bosnia in 1908).
