Why does the Greek writing of Logos look so much like havoc?

by WeAreElectricity

I was looking through etymologies of ancient Greek words and stumbled upon logos, the idea of logic. Thinking about the word further it's supposed to mean order and reason but this writing of it I found on the Wikipedia page looks a lot like the English word "havoc" just spelled with an o instead of an a. Is there any correlation between these words? Could one be the father of the other or is this all just completely incidental? Beautiful and meaningful language I'm just trying to learn all I can about it for fun.

This is pure coincidence, there is no connection etymologically between λόγος and 'havoc'. The final character of λόγος is a lunate sigma, that is a Greek 's' at the end of a letter. It does not represent a hard 'k' type sound at all. The γ is a gamma, not related to English 'v' at all (which would be much closer to Greek υ anyway).

So, completely incidental.
