When a taskforce in Nazi Germany was trying to solve the 'Jewish question', were there alternatives to the Holocaust that got rejected as a solution?

Yesterday there was an item on the radio describing a taskforce that had to come up with a solution for the Jewish question. It was pitched that they could be put to work and work themselves to death. That would boost the economy and get rid of Jews. Has this same taskforce come up with other and more humane possible solutions that ended up getting rejected?
