There are a bunch of towns that were liberated by the Americans, and they hold festivals on every anniversary, which are attended by US veterans of WWII. So then why did the entire country become Communist and fall into Soviet influence after WWII? Why wasn't there West and East Czech nations that were based on how much ground US and Soviet troops covered, such as in Germany?
Czechoslovakia was not split into occupation zones since it was not an aggressor country (unlike Austria and Germany, which were both split into 4 parts).
And the rest was purely diplomatic. Czechoslovakia was one of the Warsaw Pact states, by agreement. It went to the Russians, and the Americans vacated. Simple. They didn't want to just split up innocent countries. Germany was split because they couldn't agree on how to run it (like the disagreement over the Marshall plan).
Austria was re-united (and given to the non-Russian allies). Czechoslovakia was re-united (Slovakia had gone fascist) and given to the Russians.... as part of the altogether much larger post-war europe deals between Russian and American (and France, Britain, etc) allies.
After that there was propaganda to the effect of "Pilsen liberated itself" ..but of course there were those who were there and remembered.
