In what period, and in what sense? Even across the period I study, there are vast differences between how Jellicoe could lead at Jutland, Cunningham at Matapan or Woodward in the Falklands. These differences came from changes in weaponry, communication technology and in how the tactical lessons from previous laws were learned.
