Did cavemen have less sensitive skin than we do today?

by leahhhhhhh

I know people have been fashioning clothing since the beginning of time, but before we got really good at it, did humans just have rougher skin that could handle more vegetation contact, etc?

I would recommend /r/askanthropology for their take on current hunter gatherer societies and their skin features and /r/askscience for their take on skin's ability to adapt to harsh conditions.
