I bought an old bible from the late 1800s. Its falling apart, one page the edges disintegrated the moment I touched it. How do? I care for it?

Here's what I looks like. I'd like to keep it safe as possible since it changed many hands over the years. I'm not sure this is the right place to ask. I figured historians would know how to preserve it.

I can recommend r/rarebooks or r/thebindery for questions regarding storage and conservation of old books.

Old 19th c. bibles in poor condition ( cover ragged, falling off, etc) are typically not worth much except for the family information they have in them. If you can figure out where the family was located ( Warren Co., Missouri occurs on one document), the local historical society might be interested.
