EDIT: Title should say 476 C.E., not 76 C.E.
I think I have a decent grasp on the history itself of these two eras, but my textbooks and further research haven't helped determine the actual cultural aspects of Rome during these times.
Just using my knowledge, I would say that during the late Republic, the culture reflected the political and social instability that we saw at the time. There was constant war and from the time of the Gracchi to Caesar, there was plenty of internal conflict. This includes the murder of the Gracchi, the social wars, Sulla's marches on Rome his dictatorship, his proscription lists, the civil war between Pompey and Caesar, and Caesar's dictatorship and assassination. However, I am honestly not sure what the culture was like at this time.
The late Empire I know that Christianity was becoming more and more integrated into Roman government and social mobility was evolving as we see from The Satyricon. However, again I don't know what the culture was like at this time
Overall, I know the history of these times but I don't have a great idea of what the culture looked like during these times. Literature, art, philosophy, religion, etc. are unclear topics to me. Religion not so much and maybe philosophy as well.
BC and CE are two different dating systems. BC means Before Christ, while CE means common era.
It's BC AD and BCE CE
Just wanted to mention that.
