As many of us know, the German Sixth army was rather infamous for the massacre in Babi Yar, and later was encircled and mostly destroyed during the Battle of Stalingrad.
Now, I am wondering if there are any known letters, diaries, reports, or journals of soldiers who were part of this.
I think it would be an interesting perspective.
I know several users here are experts in not only World War Two history, but specifically the Wehrmarcht, more specifically the Heer in this case.
Any resources where I can find this?
Survivors of Stalingrad: Eyewitness Accounts from the 6th Army, 1942-43 by Reinhold Busch is the closest s I've found to what you are looking for. It gives individual day by day accounts of the battle from the German perspective. It was a incredible read.
