I've been reading about 'just war theory' and a lot of sources use World War 2 as the definitive example. But from my reading, the idea of 'just war' has been around for millennia.
Are there any particularly good examples of 'just war' from earlier periods? Do these wars still seem 'just' today?
Hi there! While we normally wouldn't allow example seeking questions, I've gone ahead and approved this one since it's a question framed within the specific context of Just War theory. Just a reminder to any respondents that an answer should be expected to engage with a theoretical framework, not just listing examples of a conflict where one side seemed "bad" so the war was "just."
Thanks!
