I was wondering if anyone had any interesting ideas for thesis topics regarding King George iii relating to the revolutionary war? Something I can investigate that will have some degree of research available?
As an early medievalist, I get a lot of good thinking material from Atlantic history and the colonial period, especially pre-1763. Historians working in both periods have similar problems with patchy archives and uncertainties about how to integrate archaeological and other evidence, and they ask a lot of similar questions about things like migration, cultural interactions, religious change, the formation of states, economic development, conflict, and so on. So one option is to think about historical themes or processes that you're interested in, and then try to study them in another time and/or place.
The other clear option, as you suggest, is to take a familiar event from American history and to try to view it from a radically different perspective. The Age of Revolutions is a ripe period for this kind of study, and it's attracted a number of truly brilliant historians. Here's a handful that I know of, which might give you some grit for thinking. Note that the 'Age of Revolutions' also typically considers concurrent changes that weren't just military or political, such as abolition and early industrialization.
