I'd love to get a better grasp on Incan society and would love to learn more about the royal groups (panacas) and the other polities (eg Colla, Chimu) that made up the Incan empire. I know these are two separate (and very different) questions, but I'd love any info on either one.
Thanks!
You'll probably need to use books to really learn about the Incas, a lot of the stuff you can find searching around the web is "sketchy", particularly for the Inca. (Note - The correct term is Inca, not Incan, and Incas is the proper plural)
My favorite book on the Incas is the appropriately named The Incas by Terence D'Altroy. It's an excellent general overview of history, religion, social organization, government, etc, written by an expert in the field.
The Chimu are my personal favorites in the Andes, but unfortunately there isn't a huge amount on them. The Incas and their Ancestors has a section on them, and so does The Ancient Central Andes. Additionally, there is an entire book on them titled The Northern Dynasties: Kingship and Statecraft in Chimor which is a little dated, but has a lot of good info. Unfortunately since sources on the Chimu are slim, it also involves a lot of archaeological speculation which may or may not bore you.
As for the Colla, there is even less on them than the Chimu. I do not know of any books dedicated to them and they're only covered briefly in most overview books. An Andeanist (/u/CommodoreCoCo, /u/Qhapaqocha) might be able to recommend something.
