What are some good books on ancient letters, texts and other primary sources?

Hi, I hope I am not breaking any of the subreddit rules, as this is is not really a specific question but more a request for a book. However I do feel that this subreddit is probably the one that can help me with this.

So the thing is I am looking for a book containing ancient texts translated into english (although german would be alright as well). After translating and reading ancient roman letters, texts and primary sources at school, I thought it would be really interesting to read something similar from other cultures, like the ancient greek, egyptians or babylonians. I have been looking for such a book for a while, but I haven't found anything so I would really appreciate it if you could recommend any books to me.

I'm gonna plug two things. The first is the Book List here. You can look into whatever area you're interested in. I think the AH book list is entirely secondary sources, but it's helped me quite a bit.

The second is the Fordham ancient history sourcebook, which has a bunch of primary sources translated. The source of the translation is usually listed pretty clearly if you're looking to dig in more. I'd just caution that it's almost completely without context.

I'd also trying to see if you can focus your interests beyond "ancient stuff that isn't Rome" as it will help the various experts here a great deal with recommending literature for you.

Well you might like Roger Bagnall and Rafella Criboire's Women's Letters from Ancient Egypt, it has a collection of letters written by women living in Hellenistic and Roman Egypt (some in Greek, some in Egyptian which are translated into English) and has accompanying commentary and information on what these letters mean to historians and papyrologists.

It is pretty recent and should be right up your alley given your interests.
