Wondering what sort of swear words were used in Ancient Egypt? NSFW?

by KiraMartin

Hey fellow Redditor's I'm writing a story where without to many spoilers, my one character has survived since ancient Egypt. I want to know what would have been considered swear words (either in English or in English characters) as I want this character to feel authentic as possible. I hope this is the right board for this.

The only one I am aware of is one I learned from my professors: nk in transliteration, so probably pronounced something like neck. They said it was a vulgar term for sex, so essentially the Egyptian f-bomb. They only told me of one attestation, a tomb curse which reads in part: nk.Tw aA (nek tchew a-a), May a donkey fuck you!

One of the few examples I can think of comes from the Tale of Two Brothers. In the story, the wife of an older brother tried to seduce her young brother-in-law. He rebuffed her, so she told her husband he had raped her. The older brother then tried to kill his younger brother, who defended himself and insulted his sister-in-law.

"As to your coming to kill me wrongfully, you carried your spear on the testimony of a filthy whore!" -- translation by Miriam Lichtheim

What Lichtheim translates as "filthy whore" is kAt-tAHt (kat-takhat) in Egyptian, which translates literally as "vagina-prostitute."
