I assume you're asking about the American revolutionary- and civil wars? If so, your question is impossibly broad. You are talking about almost a century worth of innovation and development, not only in weapons and tactics, but also in other highly relevant fields like logistics, demography, economy and others.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that if you want a good answer, then you are going to have to narrow your question quite a bit. Is there any particular aspect of these conflicts that you are interested in?
That said, both the American War of Independence and the US Civil War are frequent topics on AskHistorians, and have decent FAQs. You might want to look them up if you're curious.
If you want a good introduction to macro (large scale/long term) history of warfare and conflict, I also suggest you take a look at Michael Howard's short and eminently readable War in European History. Although it's focus is on European history, its analysis also covers related western conflicts - such as those in 18th and 19th century North America.
