When was the last major war among the countries of the Arabian Peninsula and how has it influenced current relationships among Gulf States?

In light of recent events, I am wondering when the last major conflict was involving states such as Qatar and Saudi Arabia and what its lasting remnants have been. I really have little knowledge of the area prior to the gulf war and don't know where the best place is to start my research. Thanks!
